Harvest Farm and Pumpkin Patch

Forty-one students in kindergarten, first and second grade enjoyed a day of outdoor learning at the Harvest Farm and Pumpkin Patch.  The fall weather was perfect for outdoor learning!  We learned about Kansas farm crops and how they are used and how farm equipment has changed over the years.  We’re glad farmers have combines and tractors to use now.  We also learned how the drought has effected all the crops this year.

We checked out all of their farm animals, and if students were brave enough, they could feed them.  They had horses, donkeys, goats, chickens, ducks, pigs, and sheep.  We also got to go on a hay rack ride and look at what was left of the pumpkins.  Each class got to bring back a huge pumpkin.  The pumpkin patch was pretty bare this year even though they tried to water them.
We enjoyed eating our sack lunches and visiting the playground area to end our adventure.
