Cunningham Scholars' Bowl Compete at Two Meets

The Cunningham High School Scholars’ Bowl team has participated in two meets this month and is now preparing for the Scholars’ Bowl Regionals meet at Norwich on February 5th

The JV team consisting of Chris Hansen, Darius McAdam, Brett McKittrick, and Paige DeWeese competed in a JV meet at Skyline High School on Thursday, January 15th.  There were five other teams participating.  Cunningham took second place by winning 4 of the 5 rounds.  Pretty Prairie took 1st place winning all 5 rounds.  Darius McAdam took second place in individual scorers with 100 points.  There were 4 others who tied with Darius for second place in individual scores.  The other JV team member not attending this meet was Caroline Reed.

The Heart of the Plains League Tournament was held at Cunningham on Thursday, January 22 at 4:00 p.m.  Teams competing at the meet included Attica, Burrton, Central Christian, Cunningham, Fairfield, Norwich, Pretty Prairie, Skyline, and South Barber.  Stafford was scheduled to be at the meet but was unable to make it. 

Cunningham’s team for the meet consisted of Elijah McAdam, Kiley Kaiser, Darius McAdam, Brett McKittrick, and Chris Hansen.  The team won 7 of the 9 rounds to win 3rd place at the tournament.  Pretty Prairie beat Cunningham by 1 question in their round together thereby winning second place. Skyline won first place with a 9-0 win.  Elijah McAdam scored 280 points and took first place for individual points.

At Regionals Cunningham will be competing against 10 other teams.  The top three teams from regionals will go on to compete at the state tournament at Natoma High School on Saturday, February 14th.
