Book in a Bag "Germs, Germs, Germs"
Mrs. Andrea Wood from the County Extension Office presented a lesson to the kindergarten class. We learned how to wash our hands correctly to reduce the chances of getting sick by having pretend germs spread on our hands and then looking at them with a black light. Students washed their hands but most of them found that they didn’t get all the “germs” off and they had to try again.
`We learned that germs are everywhere and that it is important to wash our hands before we handle food, after using the restroom, before we eat, and whenever we play with messy things. Students finished the lesson with a snack of crackers, peanut butter, pretzels, and raisins. Before they ate their snack, they had fun designing a “giant germ!” We are looking forward to more lessons with Mrs. Wood.
