Daylen Schnittker Bound for State
It was a very good day at the 1A Regional Cross Country meet held at the Cessna Activities Center in Wichita on October 20, 2018. The Cunningham team consisting of Henry Huelskamp, Skylar Hennessee, Daylen Schnittker, Shawn Snow and Vitor Abreu competed for a chance to go to state at Wamego on October 27, 2018. The team finished 8th out of 13 and Daylen finished 7th individually which qualified him to compete at the state meet.
Even though Daylen was the only state qualifier from Cunningham, the other four team members ran well. There were 87 total runners and our individual finishes were: Daylen 7th 18:30.20, Henry 45th 20:48.39, Skylar 55th 21:23.97, Shawn 66th 22:45.73 and Vitor 76 23:29.18. The top 10 individuals and top three teams automatically qualify for the state meet. Seven of the top ten individuals must be from teams not qualifying as a team.
Daylen will travel to Wamego on October 27, 2018 to compete in the 1A state championship with their race beginning at 12:20pm.
I am very proud of this year’s team. They all worked very hard and it was fun to see their progress throughout the season.
