Haley Lindsay and Alicia Novotony presented information on "What You Need to Know About Financial Aid". They work for Pratt Community College in the financial Aid office. They helped parents and students work through the meanings of new terms needed to apply for financial aid. They explained the importance of filling out the FAFSA correctly to speed up the time needed for their results. Haley and Alicia shared some great organizational tools that were very helpful. Families were able to actually apply for the FAFSA, with their help, before the night was over.

The Cunningham High School cross country team faced a very good field at the Pratt Invitational cross country meet on September 29, 2016. Participating teams included; Pratt, Larned, Kiowa County, Stafford, Chaparral, Fowler, Cunningham, Kingman, St. John, Macksville, South Central, Fairfield, Cimarron, South Gray, Minneola, and Nickerson.
Darius McAdam ran a career personal best time of 19:06 which placed him 21st out of 69 runners. This time bettered his previous best this year by over one minute.
Lena Westerman was back in action after a week long battle with illness. It was interesting to see how much stamina she lost due to lost practice time. Brayden Schnittker saw his hard work paying off in the boys JV race. He also shaved more than a minute off of his previous best time and placed 25th out of 56 runners in a time of 22:25.
We will be running at the Burrton invitational on Thursday, October 6th at the Harvey County West Park which is 4 miles east and 3 miles north of Burrton. Races will begin at 4:00.
